You must live in Local 4’s jurisdiction, which includes the counties of Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Morris, Passaic, Sussex, Union, Warren, and parts of Somerset and Hunterdon Counties.

Or, you must live in Local 5’s jurisdiction, which includes the counties of Cape May, Atlantic, Ocean, Monmouth, Mercer, Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, Cumberland, and parts of Somerset and Hunterdon Counties.

Applications are accepted in-person Monday through Thursday from 8:30 am to 11:00 am.  Bring your High School Diploma, Driver’s License with picture ID, and Social Security Card to one or the training centers listed above. (Whichever jurisdiction you reside in)

You will be sent for a drug screen test. Your name will be placed on the interview list.  Interviews are held when needed.

Upon completion of the interview, your score will be ranked with the other applicants, and if you are accepted, your name will be placed on a list of trainees available for Pre-Job Training.  The training is for 12 weeks, Monday to Friday, from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.  There is no pay during training (no compensation).

Upon successful completion of the 12 week Pre-Job Training, your name will be placed on the ready to work list.
Your Apprenticeship with Local 4 or 5 is four years.  During this time you are required to attend 144 hours of Related Training Classes each year on Saturdays at the Bordentown, or the Fairfield Training Centers.
